Fit n Flare

10 Jun

Sunday: I love the silhouette of this dress! It’s called a fit n flare style dress. It was made popular in the 50’s. The name is so because the bodice (top) of the dress is form fitting and the skirt (the bottom), flares out from the body. This dress is one that is flattering on all body types, much like a wrap dress. It gives the illusion of curves to the curveless figure, but also can hide areas on the lower half of the body that one may not want to draw attention to. Or just flatter any shape at all whether you want to downplay or flaunt what you got! Of course I had to throw on a contrasting, unexpected shoe. The bag I’m wearing is the vintage minaudiere from the previous post. I just took the strap out of it that was tucked inside when I carried it here. And the cat eye sunglasses are the perfect accessory for the look! What do you think? The end to another weekend. Always sooo short! Enjoy the upcoming week! God Bless!

P.S.: The brand of dress that I’m wearing, London Times, has some really great dresses; also another brand Maggy London, which I believe they are made by the same company. Very affordable, stylish and well-fitting dresses. If you’re looking for a good dress, give them a try! They can be found at various discount stores such as Ross, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, Burlington Coat and more!
