Jumpy

Sunday: Did I ever tell you how much I love a jumpsuit? Well I do! And this one I did not hesitate to snatch up and add to my collection. I know, like I really needed another black jumpsuit. I didn’t but I love the “lace”/cutout detailing on this one. Unfortunately, the length isn’t as long as I like but I still liked it enough to buy it. Due to the length, I knew that I had to wear flat shoes in order to not look like a flood was coming. I don’t mind ankle pants but not too much on wider legged pants. Plus, I needed to wear flats for church today (my visual arts day). Maybe I’ll rock a flat sandal of some sort with it when it gets warmer. I like the versatility of this jumpsuit going either casual or more dressed up. Everyone should own a jumpsuit. They are timeless and flatter every shape and size. You just need to get the right style to fit your figure. Oh yeah, I was just reminded that this is my 3rd anniversary for this blog! When I started, I didn’t expect anything from it only to have a photo diary of my outfits while offering some style/fashion advice and tips to whomever read it. And that’s exactly how it’s been except that I have more people reading than I would have imagined. I am grateful to all of you who read. Also, I’m glad that I inspire you to have fun with fashion. Fashion is one of my passions and I am glad that blogging is an outlet that allows me to express it. I hope you continue to read/follow and leave comments and any suggestions on something you may want me to cover on the blog. God Bless!

Sunday: I wore this colorful little frock for Easter (Resurrection Sunday). This dress is one of the pieces that was put out by Peter Pilotto for Target. I love the color combination. This dress originally was made with crinoline in the skirt but I thought it made it too fru-fru and young so I removed it stitch by stitch (very tedious but definitely worth it). So the 1st 2 photos is the before pics of when the crinoline was still in place. Since the dress is really feminine, I wore the more edgy buckled booties to toughen the look up. That’s all for now. Just super excited that it’s finally getting warm enough to change up my wardrobe. I’m thinking about doing a post on Spring/Summer trends. I haven’t done any different post in a long while. We’ll see! Stay tuned! Have a great week! God Bless!

Sunday: I love a full skirt. This one is leather-like without being to heavy weight. It’s actually quit lightweight and could be worn throughout the warmer weather but also with tights during the colder months. Nothing new with this combo of a more dressy piece, the skirt, with a more casual piece, a tee shirt. I particularly liked this tee not because of  being a fan of Wu-Tang but because of the large numbers that gives it more of a sports jersey feel. The shoes, I bought back when it was still quite cold out but the stores started putting out the Spring pieces. I like to shop when the true seasonal weather hasn’t kicked in yet. I feel like I need to snatch up those pieces that catch my eye at that time because they may not be there once everyone else begins to shop (like now that the weather has finally broken, as they say!). Anyways, I knew these shoes would give the whole ensemble the look I was going for. Well, that’s it for now. Thanks for reading! God Bless!

Sunday: 1st let me start off by complaining. Nothing major, just these too small pants! What had happened was, I spotted these trousers on the clearance rack and decided they would be the perfect edition to my ever-growing collection of printed/pattern pants. They were my size (so I thought), and I don’t remember if I tried them on or not. But this a.m. when I put them on, OMG! They are too tight! Everyone knows how I love a loose/saggy/drop-crotch pant so these did not fit to my liking! Uggh! Loose in the waist, too tight in the butt and thighs and looser in the lower legs. I’m o.k with a little bit of fit every now and then but these are ridiculous! I need to be comfortable and able to move in my clothes. I couldn’t even lift my leg to get in the car. I had to slide in. Anyways, I digress! This will be the 1st and the last time these will be worn by me. They have got to go! So since these “fancy pants” are quite shiny and dressy looking, I wore this embellished sweatshirt to tone them down a little. Even though the sweatshirt has a little “bling” to it, it’s still a sweatshirt, a casual piece. Last but not least, the denim cape. I picked it up while thrifting several years back and finally decided to take it out for a spin. It’s actually a custom piece (according to the homemade label inside). I like that the designer used a brooch-like zipper pull to give it a little something special. Hope you had a great weekend! God Bless!

Friday: Just a quick comfy outfit I wore to go sit in a continuing education class for a few hours. The pants can go either dressy or casual or grungy. I chose to dress them down with this German soccer tee and a blazer. Since I wanted to be extra comfy, I threw on these monk strap shoes which have a slightly platform sole but are still considered flats, in my book. That’s it for now! God Bless!

P.S.: I tried out the ombre lipstick thing (more like a two-tone effect). It’s a little hard to see in these photos but I like. I’m by no means a MUA but I do like to experiment sometimes. It just ties in with the fashion thing!
