Cream of the Crop

24 Jun

I’ve had these high waist pants for quite a while now and had actually planned on styling them with a different top. But when I purchased this crop top a few months ago, I instantly knew that I would style it with these pants. The top has that tribal print that’s on trend at this time. I like that the fabric makes it feel as though I actually bought it while traveling abroad. Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

I had the beach in mind when I purchased this outfit. I imagined walking down the boardwalk on a cool Summer’s night rocking this ‘fit. It’s very easy-breezy and comfortable! Well, instead I wore it to run around town. Maybe I’ll still pack it for the beach when I go. Seeing one of my patients in her Tory flat sandals made me remember that I also owned a couple of pairs. I purchased these Tory Burch ‘Miller’ sandals over 5 years ago, worn them maybe 2x and had completely forgotten about them hiding in the back of my closet. I believe the last time I wore them was one I hurt my toe and couldn’t wear heels. Anyway, until the next time, God Bless!

I’ve been called Cookie Monster, Barney, and Violet (from Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory-btw,one of my favs). All by Javar. He always has some smart and funny comment about my colors, lol. He doesn’t ever talk about my personal style but he will clown me on my colors. I guess he’s used to seeing my dress the way I do which can sometimes be “not the norm”. Anyway, I don’t quite know what to call this color myself. It reads a bit different in photos but also in person, depending on the lightening. I guess some might call it cobalt blue or perhaps a shade of purple. I’m not sure but I like it. It’s very vibrant and makes me happy. Isn’t that what colors should do, brighten our mood? What do you think of bright/vibrant colors for your wardrobe? Are you bold enough to wear bold colors? Or are neutrals more your comfort zone? Later for now. God Bless!

Keeping it casual for a day of running errands. As I stated before, a fitted dress requires  casual/sporty footwear. Especially when cutouts are involved. And a baseball cap just makes it a bit more fun. God Bless!

This outfit is very festival ready. But if you ask Javar, he says I look like a hippie. But isn’t that the idea when one heads out to a music festival? It all started with Woodstock and now we see it from Coachella to every other music festival around the world. Except for one thing, I was going to a music festival. But the off-the-shoulder dress just gave me that vibe so I went with it. Which also made me feel like I should be barefooted, lol. But for photos only. I would not be caught barefooted outside, ugh. But no judgement. To each his own. What’s your music/outdoor festival style? God Bless!

A quirky look mixing patterns with black and white as the overall color scheme. As you may or may not know, I love a fun t-shirt! I love how it can make a look not so serious. Because isn’t that what fashion is all about, having fun? When mixing patterns, always stick to one central color scheme to be on the safe side. But if you’re a risk taker, like myself, go ahead and mix patterns and colors. Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

I’ve had this dress for quite a while and finally decided to wear it. I was attracted to the faux shirt-tied around the waist effect (it’s hard to see that detail in black). It’s quite fitted, especially for my style, so I styled it with these high top sneakers. In my opinion, when clothing fits more closely to my body, I think  more casual or sporty footwear makes it  less “sexy” and more playful. “Sexy” is never my goal when I’m dressing. Don’t get me wrong, if that’s your thing, do you. But for me, I just love fashion and styling so that’s what matters most to me. To me, I can feel good or attractive in anything without feeling “sexy”. Ok, I digress. Sporting another pair of sneakers, which have become a staple of mine lately. Love that I found an all white pair that I can style with everything! Anyway, God Bless!

Edged up this rather feminine dress with the gladiator sandals. I own few past over the last several but these I adore because of the open, silver tone square heels. They dress up what would otherwise be a more casual gladiator sandal. And yes, they do give you a crazy crisscross tan, ugh! I didn’t realize the sun was so powerful that day. We only sat out for a little while. Are you a partaker of the gladiator trend that’s been around for quite some years now? If not, why not? They come in a variety of heel heights and colors for everyone’s personal style and taste. Until next time, God Bless!
