Bandana Love

26 Nov

This turned out to be one of my favorite looks! Of course, it’s the jumpsuit/onesie! Not only do I love a onesie, but I also really adore one with pockets! This one is so comfy and could come off very masculine depending on how it is styled. I femmed it up with a pair of heels but also kept the look cool and casual with the bandana around my neck and the bandana under the hat. I thought the neck bandana was pretty fab with the chain tassel details. I love a bandana/neck scarf but this one took it up a notch. I’m out for now! God Bless!

Velvet and More Velvet

Stepping out in this velvet coat I picked up when Michelle and I did our charity shopping trip last month. As usual, I picked it up in other colors too (burgundy and chocolate brown). Styled it with these high waist jeans that I cut the bottom hem off to give them that raw hem look. And the open toe booties were a no-brainer. Have you gotten in on the velvet trend yet this season? Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

EMBROIDERED

Stepped out in these embroidered jeans to do some running around on a warm Fall day. I take advantage of every chance that I can get to stay in open toe shoes and sleeveless tops. And of course, bare legs for that matter. So today was one of those days. Embroidery, especially on denim, is a big trend right now. Alot of the top designers (including Gucci) have some great embroidered pieces in their lines. Those pieces are out of my price range so when I came across these jeans (and one other pair w/embroidery on the pocket) I had to have them! They’re pretty long, which I love, so I added some height with the platform sandals. Have you been taking advantage of the nice weather we’ve been having in the East? God Bless!

The 70s is one of my favorite fashion decades and these overalls gave me that vibe! I love a good corduroy piece and these wide wale cords works for me. I love the color! Is it wine, burgundy, maroon, aubergine or eggplant? Whatever you call it, it is such a rich color but vibrant at the same time! I chose to style it with the sweater because I like how the colors play off each other, especially the mustard yellow. Until the next time, God Bless!

If you didn’t get in on the OTK boot (Over-The-Knee) trend the last couple of years, this season is still available for you to give it a go! You can find them in different fabrics, colors and heel heights that are sure to work for everyone! They also come in a wider with if you’re worried about them fitting your legs. I’m loving this heel height cause they are super comfy and can be walked in and worn for hours! And if you’re concerned about cost, the price point ranges and will fit into anyone’s budget, from high to low. Well, that’s it for now! God Bless!

This plaid dress is definitely a take on a school uniform. The top navy and green portion is reminiscent of that. But then the twist in changing up the plaid color non-traditional plaid is what attracted me to this piece! I also love the draping detail that is carried from the front of the garment to the back of the garment. So, in sticking with the school uniform look I decided to run with it. Hence the white shirt with the bow and the booties with the flap just makes me think of a shoe that you’d where with a uniform. So what do you think? Am I ready for school, lol? Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

How High? Thigh High!

17 Nov

I wore this to the Mary (Mary J Blige) and Maxwell concert. The boots were an homage to Mary who has a crazy boot game! She can always been seen in the sickest pair of boots! And she did not disppoint with her boots that night. And of course, her show is always amazing! Maxwell was great too! Anyway, the dress has a whimsical floral pattern and the hat just goes with the whole vibe. God Bless!

I love a shirt dress and this one is one that I’ve been keeping an eye out for quite some time! All of the ones I currently own are a bit shorter so I’ve been waiting to come across one that is longer in length. I really want an ankle length one but this one is getting closer. Since the weather is still bare-legged appropriate, I styled the dress with these ballerina style lace up pumps. I like how a traditional, round toe pump is updated with ribbon laces! And of course I had to style it with a wide brimmed hat. Hats are the only reason why I straighten my hair (big, natural hair doesn’t fit under most of my hats)! Have you updated your Fall wardrobe with any new pieces? God Bless!

Decided to finally wear this denim jacket that I DIY’d with some patches. Styling it with an equally casual t-shirt and a more dressy pair of cropped trousers was spot on. The juxtaposition of pieces that is more laid back with the trousers and the chain strapped shoe is favorite in styling for me. Until we meet again, God Bless!

This dress gives me a vintage vibe, that’s what attracted me to it. I don’t know what it is, but if a floral dress is involved I just can’t resist. So obviously I could have styled it with a classic pair of heels but that would have just been too boring for my taste. So instead I styled it with these shiny patent booties. I love how such an a classic like patent leather can be made more casual and cool by adding a wooden heel. Booties and dresses are a look that I can’t get enough of! What do you think? God Bless!
