LOGOS

11 Jan

Starting off the New Year in logos! A lot of people don’t like to wear the brand/designer pieces that showcase their logos. Logos are most popularly displayed on handbags/purses but now they are being put on everything! A lot of designers are most recognizable by their logos such as the ‘F’ in Fendi, the ‘GGs’ of Gucci or the ‘MK’ for Michael Kors. Not only are those popular letters being seen, but also the designer/brand name itself as seen in the knit that I’m wearing. Some people may not like it but I’m ok with it as long as it’s a piece that I genuinely like! I’m not going wear it just because it shows the world that you’re wearing a designer brand but for those who do, it doesn’t bother me! Another way people, especially celebrities are wearing designer logos is by piling them on altogether! Not just going for one piece at a time but by wearing a bit excessive but I’ll admit, sometimes I like the look if it’s pulled off the right way! But that’s just me and my style preferences. Anyway, I picked this Zara knit up a few months ago full price but now it’s on sale here. I really like the color combination. On top of that, I love a turtleneck/poloneck and anything from Zara’s knit collection or almost anything knit for that matter! Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

Wrapping Up 2018

24 Dec

Hey there! Yeah, I know it’s been a very long time since my last post! My only reasoning is that I am so busy with working fulltime, family stuff and mostly, my online shops that I run through Poshmark and Depop that require a lot of my time, I just don’t feel like editing and writing blog posts, tbh! My whole purpose of this blog was for me to express my fashion creativity and share it with others. I still do that but on IG! I’m still trying to decide on how I’m going to move forward in 2019 with the blog. Maybe post 1-2 times per month. I’m also thinking about doing a YouTube channel based on fashion and shopping. Mostly thrift hauls and try ons. For those of you who are not familiar, I am going to show and talk about what I buy from thrift and other stores and style the pieces for you to see. This idea came about because I love watching other people do this and also because I shop and purchase so much but rarely get to wear and post things because I only get dressed on the weekends and refuse to just do photo shoots if I’m not wearing the pieces in real life. I’m not that type of blogger but to each her own! Anyway, stay tuned and follow my IG@ 1ststatestyle.

It’s Been A Long Time

I apologize for my absence but uploading pics from my Canon DSLR to my laptop is very daunting and I just fell off. Not completely because I still post on Instagram. Hence the reason forthese mirror pics. I am actually testing out uploading pics from my phone. So if you don’t already, follow me on the Gram for outfit posts and other things. I’m still gonna go back and post some looks that are on my Canon though so stay tuned. Thanks for your patience and following! God Bless!

Love the richness of a burgundy/wine color! It pops well against this animal print skirt. Wanted to dress the skirt down by styling it with this tee and platform sneakers. These sneakers are the same the ones I posted here with the stars. I initially purchased tan ones like these but with the stars. I never wore them so I returned them when I got back from Chicago after purchasing these and the white ones with the stars for both pair for less than the one other pair. Steve Madden was having a great sale! Well, thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

Tee: Arizona (JCP)

Skirt: Buffalo by David Bitton (JCP) (I probably got that name wrong but you can find that brand at JCP)

Minus the VPL, this outfit comes off rockstar-ish! From the Hendrix tee to the biker-style ankle booties. The slipdress I picked up at last year’s charity shopping event (CCCS). It’s that time of the year again so I’m super excited to see what I can pick up this year! I actually go this dress in black too. Thinking about styling it for the colder weather with a sweater, tights and boots. But we’ll see. Rocking my afro after taking my braids out, on my way to go get my hair cut. The after to this before pic you will see in the next blog post. God Bless!

P.S.: Just noticed that me and Jimmy have the same hairstyle!

Getting some last minute wear out of my Summer pieces before the weather changes. Love a boot with a dress so mixing seasons is appropriate to me and a way to transition into the next season. The sock boot is a current trend. For those of you who don’t know. It’s when the shaft of the boot is made of a material that gives the boot a more fitted look as if you’re wearing a pair of socks. You will see more of me rocking this style in upcoming posts. Go get yourself a pair! I think they’re a trendy piece that you can/will still wear even after the ‘trend’ is no longer around. God Bless!
