Casual Summer Style

Saturday: Just an easy casual outfit for a Summer day! A pair of denim cutoffs are a Summer staple and so easy to throw on no matter what kind of look you’re going for. I love them with this slouchy, lightweight tank. To dress things up a little I threw on these leopard print heels. Heels can dress up any outfit no matter if it is leisure wear, athletic wear or casual denim. If you know me, you know that I’ve worn heels with all of the above at some point. And of course, I had to rock one of my favorite hats! Do you a Summer go-to piece? Hope you had a great weekend! God Bless!

Summer Staple Piece

Friday: Denim cutoffs are always a go-to when it comes to easy Summer dressing! Definitely a Summer staple piece. Instead of one of my usual pairs of blue denim cutoffs I went with this white pair. I paired them with a simple tank top but styled them with this printed kimono to add a bit more interest and coverage in case I get a little chilly once night falls.  And since I was going to an outdoor festival, I wore these ankle boots instead of sandals because I didn’t want grass touching my feet (don’t judge me, lol) and also wanted to protect my feet from the crowds that I may come in contact with. Plus, I just like the look of a boot, whether ankle, knee or calf height, with shorts and dreses! And of course, I’m always excited when I can wear a hat that fits over my hair! What are your Summer go-to pieces? God Bless!

Super Heroes and Gladiators

Saturday: I love the look of a casual outfit with a pair of heels. So basically that’s all this is. A fun graphic print raglan tee and a pair of distressed cutoff shorts. A statement necklace adds another element of interest. Gladiators are still trending this season again. So instead of opting for a flat pair, I chose these heeled ones that I have been looking to purchase for some time now but just couldn’t find a pair in my price range. Remember, it’s ok to try out trends, you (I) just don’t want to spend a lot of money for something that I may not get much wear out of. Some pieces that are super trendy that I won’t wear much after the trend has died down. But then again, you know me, I follow some trends but I still do things my way whether the masses are doing it or not. But anyways, I digress. Hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend! Enjoying my extra day off. Gotta go do my other post that I’m behind on. God Bless!

Sock It 2 Me

Just a quick menswear post since I haven’t done one in a while. Well, this is actually young men/teen style. Unless you’ve been under a rock, everyone knows that graphic tees have been the trend. It’s not just a female thing but also the males are taking part in this trend. Honestly, I believe that the men are the original wearers of a graphic tee. Women have just adopted it and wear it in a more versatile way such as with more dressed up pieces. So here Javar wears his which is a raglan tee (you know the old school baseball tees) with a pair of cutoff denim shorts. He also chose the ever-classic Chuck Taylor sneakers but added a little quirkiness with a sock that has a mustache pattern. He loves these types of socks and has several pairs with various motifs and patterns. I love an interesting sock on a man! It just gives the outfit so much more personality. Especially when a man has on a suit then when he sits down you see something other than just a plain ole’ solid colored sock. So tell your man he can have fun with fashion too. Even if he is conservative, he can rock a fly sock and show some personality. So women take some initiative and buy your man or your son those socks. He might just need you to help push him outside that box. Thanks for reading! God Bless!

Friday: Today’s outfit is all about comfort. All denim is just an easy way to put together a look that doesn’t require much thought or energy. Whether you do it with cutoff shorts or jeans, with flats, heels, boots or sneakers, it just works. As I said before, the one thing that is a struggle for me with natural hair is that it is so big and thick that I am unable to wear my hats. So for the past week I have not done my usual hair routine/products in order to keep it semi-straight and flat so I can wear some hats this weekend. So today I decided to wear this snapback that I bought a few months ago. Be prepared to see me in a hat everyday this weekend and maybe beyond. If I can stand to go with my curls much longer. Hope you have a good weekend. God Bless!
