White in the Winter

25 Jan

Just some black and white. These Mod style patent booties was purchased last year. I always had them in the back of my mind but never pulled them out until now. I’m usually not the one to wear all black but I figured why not when I can use the white to pop. And yes, I have some giant holes in the thighs of my jeans that was not created by me but purchased this way. Some may wonder why would one pay money to have such holes in their jeans, well, because it’s easier to buy them that way then to make them yourself. As to not totally revealĀ  my upper thighs, I donned these fishnet stockings. Fishnets are trending right now but since I have been known to mostly do my own thing with fashion, I just dug these ones out of stockpile of hosiery, which also includes colored fishnet knee highs that I’ve had for a long time. Can you imagine a pair of colored fishnet knee highs? You probably can’t even imagine a pair of plain knee highs! Do they even still sell knee highs? Well, until next time, God Bless!

The Wild Wild West

Found this chic cowboy hat while browsing the mens’ department. It’s a brand that I am quite familiar with because I already own several other types by them. I love this brand because the hats are very well made but are affordable. If I haven’t mentioned it before, I love a men’s hat because they come in sizes large enough to accommodate my hair when it’s in its natural state. Otherwise, I can’t wear them unless I tame my mane and straighten it a little bit. Anywho, wanted to keep everything else simple since the hat is the statement piece. So when you want to go for simple and understated, all black is the answer. Besides my floral, furry footwear choice, which is a statement in and of its self! Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

Cold Shoulder

17 May

The off-the-shoulder trend is big this season! I bought this top before Christmas with intentions on wearing it once the Spring/Summer season hit. This trend can be found at all price points and come in several different variations of garments. I purchased several over the last few months so be prepared to see them here on the blog as the warmers days approach. Now I’m wishing that I would’ve kept a couple that I had many years ago (that’s why I hang on the pieces now; they resurface again and again in the fashion cycle). The off-the-shoulder style reminds me of the Hispanic culture. I can imagine beautiful Mexican girls milling about with off-the-shoulder tops and dresses. Anyway, dressed it down with these jeans with patches but then elevated the look again with a pop of animal print heels. Give the off-the-shoulder trend a go! Every woman has beautiful shoulders. It doesn’t matter the size or shape of the rest of your body you will feel comfortable with this look. God Bless!

Wasn’t quite sure what footwear I wanted to wear. I thought I wanted a pop of color since the look was neutral. But then finally decided to go with the black fringe bootie. The emoji purse I picked up several months ago. I liked that it’s quirky and will make any outfit a bit more fun and not so serious. Overall, I would say this look is a little bit boho and a little bit rock-n-roll. Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

Tunics and Stuff

30 Nov

A casual look for a day of running errands on this Black Friday (very limited shopping later in the evening). This weather has been perfect the last few days! Whenever I get a 65+ degree day this time of year on the East Coast, I am beyond thrilled! So, to take advantage of those temps I went with this sleeveless tunic sweater. I styled it with a casual, comfy pair of distressed boyfriend jeans and these leopard print slip-on sneakers to add a bit of interest. Did you do any Black Friday shopping? God Bless!

IMG_1122IMG_1119IMG_1114IMG_1120A basic Fall uniform, jeans and boots. Not much to say but I threw on this leather jacket to complete the look. And, oh yeah, a wide brim hat of course. As you may or may not know, I am a huge hat fan and I you will rarely see me without one when my hair is straightened. Until the next time, God Bless!
