Rough Around the Edges

Some may call this a jumper dress and others may call it a pinafore dress. Whatever it’s called it was a great choice for this steamy hot day! It’s lightweight denim and super comfy! Perfect for running around getting things done. I styled it with my shiny sneakers to make it even more laid back and casual. How are you beating the heat with wardrobe choices? God Bless!

Pretty Sneaky

Just wondering if my new found love of sneakers and flat shoes will change once the temperature begins to drop. But for now, I just can’t get enough! The fact that this jumpsuit is a bit revealing on the top (a bit too much cleavage for my taste), meant that I wanted to create a more sporty and less “sexy” look so the sneakers were a no-brainer. The jean jacket also added a touch more modesty and warmth for the subzero air conditioning. This is another one of those Summer to Fall transition pieces. Are you currently or will you transition any of your Summer pieces? Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

Ok, let me just get this explanation out of the way before anything is said. I knew I wanted to rock these sneakers with the dress but I just couldn’t make up my mind what color. I decided to give them a test run in the photos and then decide which I would actually wear out of the house. I actually preferred how the mint popped and went with them. So now you can stop worrying about if I actually went out wearing two different color sneakers, lol. Don’t get me wrong, I probably would have styled the look this way but if you know me, you know I don’t like drawing attention to myself. I can just imagine the looks stares I would have received on the streets! On the other hand, depending on the occasion/venue¬† I was going to, if I deemed it “appropriate”, I would have done it! Anywho, the colors of the dress is what grabbed my attention 1st. Then once I saw the style with the cute back detail, it was a winner! I’m definitely a dress girl! How about you? God Bless!

This is a music festival outfit. No, really, I actually wore it to one and not one of the times when I just looked like I should have been at a music festival. I went on a little thrifting spree (x2) and scooped up a few pairs of high waist shorts and jeans. Some of the jeans are going to be cut into shorts and them some I will leave as long pants. I haven’t been thrifting in over a year so it was fun to get back at it and come away with some good finds. The sneakers are the fraternal twins to the high top pair worn here. Well, I’m out for now! Talk to you soon! God Bless!

I love a shoe with ties that wrap up your legs but sometimes they can be a pain when they won’t stay tied, as you can see! Anyway, loving how the subtle tan/brown hues play against the light washed denim. The choker is one of the newest styles of accessories that are out right now. It’s not only a choker, but it incorporates these black laces that I tied into a bow. Some of the others that I’ve seen and actually purchased, wraps around the neck and just hangs loose on each side. I’ll bring it to your attention when I wear it. Until the next time, God Bless!

I picked this dress up last year when I was in Vegas. I knew that if I wore it to church that I would need to layer some type of bottoms underneath. I decided to style it with cropped jeans. It gives me the coverage that I need but also gives the look a more laid back feel. What do you think? God Bless!

Pom Poms

28 Jul

A crop top and some high waist shorts. The sandals are a diy project that I did a few months back. I love the pom pom on footwear trend so I decided to give it a try myself. There are several designer pairs of shoes out there with pom poms but I couldn’t find any in my price range (at that time). So I headed out to Michael’s, pulled out the old glue gun and this is the finished product. What do you think of the pom pom trend? Would you rock it on your shoes? Or on your clothing? God Bless!
