Sunday: As soon as I came across this skirt, I knew I couldn’t leave it on the rack. I loved the vibrant print and colors. But then when I touched it, the material was just so heavy, sturdy and a luxurious knit! I could instantly tell that it was well made. Upon closer observation, the tag revealed that it was DVF (Diane von Furstenberg), you know, the queen of the wrap dress! Not only does she do a mean wrap dress, but she also makes other great pieces. I probably wouldn’t have purchased it if it hadn’t been marked down. Or maybe I would have. It’s just one of those pieces that is a good statement piece and you probably wouldn’t see it again anywhere else. Plus, DVF pieces are collectibles (to me). I also like that it is a pull-on, without any fasteners, so you can wear it at the knee like I did for church or you can hike it up higher and make it a mini skirt styled with some cute flat sandals for a casual day look. It’s all about pieces being versatile. Styling can take one piece and create several different looks. Do you style your pieces different ways or do you wear the piece styled the same every time you wear it? Mix things up sometimes and see how you like it. God Bless!

Sunday: Back to my colorful self this Sunday! A pretty basic outfit but I love the colors in the skirt. The print reminds me of a piece of art. Not brush strokes from a paint brush, but more like a piece of wood that has been strategically painted to expose all of its grains. Anyways, wore a more casual, chunky boot to dress the skirt down a bit. Also, the baseball cap dresses the look down but also protected my hair from the downpours that were going on outside. After tonight though, you may not see me in too many hats because I am going back to my kinky/curly hair, which means not many hats will fit. Oh well, it was great while it lasted! Since tonight is New Year’s Eve, I just want to thank you all for sticking with me and this blog thru-out 2013! Enjoy your night, be safe and God Bless! Talk to you next year;)

Sunday: This skirt is another piece from the Duro Olowu Collection with JC Penny. I now believe that I almost have all of the pieces that he made for them. Minus the two coats that I still want. I have to scour the clearance racks of some other JCP stores to see if any are left. But anyways, since the skirt is focal point of the outfit, I came everything else simple by wearing this basic black polo shirt. I pulled the green from the skirt and used these sandals for a pop of color. Also loving my new hand bracelet that I found while digging thru the bracelet bin. I initially thought it was some kind of deformed, irregular bracelet that had been squeezed beyond its normal shape. But after looking it over closely, I realized that it wasn’t your average bracelet. It was meant to go over your hand, not your wrist. How awesome, I thought!  I instantly had to have it since it was so unique and unlike anything that I had ever seen. I know, it doesn’t take much to get me excited when it comes to fashion! Oh well, what can I say! You gotta have passion about something! And fashion is just one of my many passions. I call it my fun fashion. The others are more serious and life touching. Alright, enough for now. Hope you had a great weekend! God Bless!
