The Crew

23 Apr

I’m finally wearing this pants that I picked up about a year ago. There’s never a real reason why I don’t wear the clothes or shoes that I buy right away. Most of the time when I get dressed it’s based on how I feel at that time. Even if I prepare at night, I might still change my mind in the morning. The weather also plays a small role in the outfit that I choose. Anyway,  love the colors in these pants. How the lighter blue pops against the darker colors. The blue patchwork shirt makes the blue in the pants pop even more but it also makes the look a bit more casual because of the denim/chambray. I couldn’t decide whether to wear these booties or a single sole heeled sandal but as you see, these booties won out. I thought they would edge the look up more! What determines what you decide to wear? God Bless!

Sunday: Wow, I know, another post! Third one in two days! This is a record, I think. I guess you can say I’m making up for those times that I didn’t do a regular outfit post. Anyway, a little bit of Spring, a little bit of Winter. Still sporting sweaters and turtlenecks. Styled it with these crazy, psychedelic trousers (looking at them now, they remind of something Versace has done, print-wise). Found them while doing some browsing in a  that I wouldn’t “normally” purchase from. But when I’m shopping I like to look thru every department because I never know when I might come across a piece that I find interesting. I like to take an unexpected piece and style it to my liking. So even though it may come from a section targeted towards a someone with a different style/taste then myself, I take that piece and incorporate it into my personal style. So these trousers was that piece for me. So much so that I also bought another pair with a different pattern and colors. So my tip for today is: Don’t be afraid to browse thru other departments of a store. Keep an open mind while shopping and when you find a piece that sparks your interest, style it to your liking. That’s what personal style is all about! God Bless!

Sunday: I know it’s now November but I am still getting some wear out of my lighter weight clothing. I did initially have a turtleneck under this top but didn’t like how it looked. I figured the heat would be on in church so my arms wouldn’t get cold. Actually, the colder weather months are the best time to wear short sleeves in church because the heat will be on and not the air conditioner like in the Summer. Anyway, I liked the casualness of the top and how they used the jeweled neckline to dress it up a bit. You know how I like the juxtaposition of something more casual with something more dressy. The pants I picked up during Summer vacay at the beach. Nothing like a bold print! Side note: Michelle and I and her sister did our annual charity shopping event on Friday. We got some great pieces and the proceeds went to four different charities. Shopping for a cause! You’ll see them as I wear them in upcoming blog posts. Hope you had a great weekend! God Bless!

Sunday: Finally decided to wear this tee that me and my sissy picked up when we went to the Natural Hair Expo back in the Fall. I knew it would make the trousers a bit more casual and relaxed. Also, I like how orange looks with the colors in these printed trousers. To make the orange pop more I added the orange glasses and these orange sandals. I’ve had these sandals for a very long time (like almost 10 years) but I believe this is only my 2nd time wearing them. The reason being (yes, I have a reason for once) they expose a whole lot of toe and make my feet feel naked. I know that sounds crazy but it’s the truth. So now I’m wondering why did I also purchase these same shoes in black, white and pink too? I don’t have an answer for that one. Anyways, one cannot always explain the madness that style/fashion causes sometimes. That’s just how it is! Later for now! God Bless!
