Oops, forgot to remove the tag from the bottom of my shoe! Anyway, fell in love with this tuxedo-style jumpsuit when I first laid eyes on it! I wasn’t my usual size but what the heck, I tried it on anyway. As you can see it fit! That’s one rule of thumb that I stand by when shopping. Don’t knock it until you try it on! You never know. Designers sizing isn’t standard across the board. Especially due to vanity sizing. They want to make women think that they are smaller than they really are. That works in the case where some women are so hooked on the size of the garment instead of how it fits them and how they look and feel in the garment.

The 70s is one of my favorite fashion decades and these overalls gave me that vibe! I love a good corduroy piece and these wide wale cords works for me. I love the color! Is it wine, burgundy, maroon, aubergine or eggplant? Whatever you call it, it is such a rich color but vibrant at the same time! I chose to style it with the sweater because I like how the colors play off each other, especially the mustard yellow. Until the next time, God Bless!

Seasonal Mixology

Sunday: Today I’m doing a bit of season mixing. This is the time of the year where it gets a little confusing on what to wear cause our weather on the East Coast is a bit if-y. It’s almost Spring so it gets slightly warmer in the afternoon than it is in the morning. So how do you know what to wear so that you are comfortable in either case? Well, that’s when I decide to mix things up. And also because I want to get the last wear out of my Winter clothing. So today I went with “Winter” on top and “Spring/Summer” on the bottom. Even though technically I would wear the bottoms in the colder months too, maybe with tights underneath for extra warmth. Next time I might wear these with a lighter weight top and open toe sandals. Trend Alert: Culottes are on trend for this season. You can find them in alot of stores in several colors, fabrics and lengths. They look good on all body types so don’t be afraid to try them out! God Bless!

Sunday: With the temperature taking a little dip today I decided to wear a “transitional outfit”. Transitional meaning you may have some warmer weather pieces that you still want to and can wear before the temps get too cold, and you wear them in a way that’s still season appropriate. For this look, the pants are lightweight but the long sleeve/rolled sleeve top and blazer help them to transition easily from Spring/Summer to early Fall. Also, the heavier shoe (which is hard to see), but with it’s chunky sole and chunky wood heel and patent leather, but also a peep toe makes it appropriate for the early Fall temps when it’s still warm enough to wear your toes out. For me anyway, some people venture into open toe/feet exposed footwear in the Winter. I might, but with socks or tights. And I love the Fall (fashion-wise), for being able to wear my hats without my head getting too hot. Sidebar: I prefer men’s hats because they’re bigger and can be seated down better on my head. Plus, the brims and bigger and wider! Do you prefer Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter dressing? Hope you had a great weekend! God Bless!
