Ok, so I bought this dress in another color/pattern that I wore here. This time I styled it with these very outdoorsy and not-so-stylish sandals. I say “not-so-stylish”  because they aren’t the typical sandal that one might wear with a dress. I would expect to see some outdoorsy person sporting these with a pair of cargo shorts and a bucket hat. I know that sounds stereotypical but that’s what I imagine. So why did I purchase them if I wasn’t planning any outside activities while wearing them? Because I like the idea of styling them unexpectedly and they are super comfy! Do you style your outfits according to what the masses would say is the “right” way? Or do you go outside of the box? God Bless!

Casual attire consisting of a pair of high waist jeans, a sweatshirt and some sneaks. You can’t get anymore basic than that! The sneakers I picked up around Christmas time. I was drawn to them because they reminded me of a pair of DKNY boots that I had back in the day. Why didn’t I keep them? I say that often about pieces I remember having and wish that I currently still owned. That’s why I have a hard time getting rid of pieces now. I always think, now what if I get rid of it and then want it back several years later? That’s why I keep alot of my clothes for years!!! You never know when I get that urge to pull out a piece from the archives. Well, I digress! Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

I am a fan of neutral colors, especially with a pop of color! Olive green is one of those colors that I believe looks great with almost any color. I styled this ordinary skirt and sweater look with the long-line vest to not only add a pop of color but to also add some visual interest with portions. My accessory of choice, a neck scarf. Definitely one of my favorite ways to accessory whether it’s worn around the neck, on the wrist or on my head. Pulled out these old suede and patent booties because I like how brown looks with the other colors. Hope you have a great weekend! God Bless!

Sweater: Thrifted-Men’s Department (initially was going to use it for my DIY Ugly Christmas Sweater but opted for the cardigan instead)

Kimono/Robe

Just a plain white tee and some jeans. The rest of the ensemble needed to be basic so not to compete with the boldness of the kimono. A kimono has a few functions. One being it can give you a bit of warmth if you feel a bit chilly. And another is to take an outfit of basics up a notch like I did. Kimonos can be found at any store in a variety of lengths, patterns, fabrics and styles. Give your fall wardrobe an update by trying a kimono to finish off your look. God Bless!
