Black Lily

Sunday: I finally decided to wear one of the several maxi skirts that I purchased at the beginning of Spring. I love that this one is super long and that I need to wear very high platforms in order for it to not drag the ground. That could be a good thing and a bad thing. The bad thing about it is that I will never be able to wear this skirt with flats. Anyway, I love a lily so the black lily print just gives the skirt a more mysterious feel. Just styled it with a simple black tank to let the skirt be the main attraction and not have to compete with a fussy top. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to talk about the body chain/choker combo. I purchased a few different body chains over the last couple years or so but just haven’t felt inspired to wear them until today. I like this one, a more edgy, choker neck chain/body chain combo. I like that it’s an unexpected touch to such a whimsical look. What’s a trendy accessory that you’ve tried recently? Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

Wide Brims and Cons

I wanted to style this classic shaped sheath dress in an unexpected way so decided on these hi-top converse and my wide brim hat. I also like the look of the bandana under the hat which I did for functional reasons because I buy most of my hats extra large to accommodate my big natural hair that I wear the majority of the time, so it fits a bit loose with these braids. Anyway, the whole ensemble was pretty comfortable for the day’s event, my nephew’s graduation party/BBQ. Did I say how proud (not boastful, but Godly proud) I am of him for graduating from college with a BA in Science. He has already been blessed with a position to teach History for 8th grade. God is so awesome! Nowadays it’s very rare for a new grad to finish school and get a job a month later. But that’s how God works for those who are faithful to Him. He gives us the desires of our heart! He is going to be a great role model to those kids and a great teacher! I digress! It’s just sometimes you gotta let people know that God is still doing great things and answering prayers. Hope you’re enjoying your Summer! God Bless!

Denim cutoffs, a Summer staple piece! You can buy them or you can DIY them but they are definitely the go-to piece for a Summer day! They are a “trend” but not really because they have been around for decades and have and never will ever go out of style! I turn to them when I want to either be a little put-together but not want to put forth much thought and also when I just want to throw something on and go. You can style them so many ways, that’s the best part about them. And when you wear them loosely, how I like them, they are super comfy! So style them with flats, sneakers, ankle boots, knee boots, heels or whatever, and you’re good to go! Until next time, God Bless!

Drop It Like It’s Hot

Had this drop waist dress since the end of last season. It was a clearance rack find that I love. If you haven’t noticed, I love a long, maxi dress. I really like to style it bohemian, usually with a pair of ankle boots but decided to do a flat sandal instead. And any chance that I get to throw on a hat i do…God Bless!

Back It Out

I finally decided to wear this jumpsuit that I picked up last year. It was a pretty warm day, not too hot, so appropriate enough for pants. I could’ve also worn shorts or a dress but this was an opportunity for me to give this jumpsuit a go without being too hot. I love that the fabric is very lightweight and with the wide legs gives the look a whole easy breezy feel. I was hesitant about not wearing an undertop and having my bra revealed but I didn’t like how any top underneath looked, so what the hack, showing the bra won out (should of changed into a prettier one and not my standard, supportive everyday type,       ha ha!). Too bad I’m not a part of that group that can go braless because it would’ve made for a better look with the crisscross back of the jumpsuit. Oh well! The best thing about this look of all was that it felt as if I was wearing pj’s, which is always a good thing for me! Until, next time, God Bless!

Ears and A Midi

Sunday: Last start from the top. The ears is a headband that I picked up about a year ago. I thought it was a fun, quirky accessory (a few designers had showed similar ones). I haven’t worn them out before so I thought I would just wear them for outfit post. Sporting one of my favorite midi skirts that I found while shopping with my sis after our beach day. I also purchased it in navy. Dressing down the look with a tee is always one of my favs. And I can’t forget the hand accessory. I wouldn’t really call it a glove because it doesn’t cover the fingers, but I knew I had to have it! You know if it’s different, it’s for me! Well, thanks for taking some time out of your busy Summer schedule to keep up with my posts. Hope you had a great 4th of July! God Bless!
