Sueded

24 Apr

Put this outfit together during one of the cooler days. I always try to get the last wear out of my Winter/Colder months clothes before the weather changes. I’ve been holding onto this faux fur piece all Winter and thought this was the picture day to pull it out. The same goes for this suede, tie neck blouse that I stalked until they put it on the clearance rack. I decided to leave the ties hanging instead of making a bow as you normally would with a tie neck blouse. I love how the teal looks with the chocolate browns, tans, and creams. Later for now! God Bless!

I’m finally wearing this pants that I picked up about a year ago. There’s never a real reason why I don’t wear the clothes or shoes that I buy right away. Most of the time when I get dressed it’s based on how I feel at that time. Even if I prepare at night, I might still change my mind in the morning. The weather also plays a small role in the outfit that I choose. Anyway,  love the colors in these pants. How the lighter blue pops against the darker colors. The blue patchwork shirt makes the blue in the pants pop even more but it also makes the look a bit more casual because of the denim/chambray. I couldn’t decide whether to wear these booties or a single sole heeled sandal but as you see, these booties won out. I thought they would edge the look up more! What determines what you decide to wear? God Bless!

Sometimes It’s Just Black n White

I wore this exact same dress but in a different color a few months ago. But then, I styled it in a more dressy/casual way then here. This styling is more sporty with these rose gold sneakers and the bandana. I like how the rose color pops with the neutrals. I know my style might not be for everybody but I believe some things can be used to inspire you to try different things/pieces and explore your own personal style. That’s how other people’s style inspire me. If I inspire just one of you, my purpose for this blog has been fulfilled! Thanks for supporting me! God Bless!

Mint Condition

Another skirt and sneaker ensemble.  WARNING: you will be seeing alot more of this combo as the weather gets warmer. Now that we have that out of way, this bright minty color helps me usher in Spring even though the weather hasn’t been cooperating that much. I love the color combos in the skirt, how the dark navy makes the mint green pop even more. The sneakers are classic running sneakers that I picked up about a year ago and just happened to go with the color of the skirt. What do you think? Are you feeling the skirt and sneakers thing? God Bless!

These fringe boots give are a bit unexpected with the vintage high waist pants. I think they give them a more updated, funky vibe. I really don’t like the platform on the boots but the fringe is cool!  Nothing more to say so until the next time, God Bless!

Vintage Inspired

19 Apr

This is a dress that I “stalked” a few months back. When I say “stalked”, it means I want the piece, but don’t want to pay the current asking price so I literally go back and check on it every week to see if they mark it down to a price that I want to pay. Sometimes it works out and I am able to take the piece home with me at a price that I’m comfortable with, but sometimes someone else snatches it up 1st. If the latter happens, I just say to myself that it wasn’t meant to be. Although I have several vintage dresses, I wanted this one because it has that vintage feel without actually being vintage. And of course the tie neck and the pockets sealed the deal! God Bless!

I’m really beginning to really enjoy wearing sneakers! As a teen, sneakers were the footwear of choice, most of the time. But as an adult, wearing a shoe, especially heels, just seems to make me feel more put together. But more recently I have been getting into wearing sneakers. I think I now own more sneakers than ever! Of course, it all began due to working out and training but now it has evolved into buying sneakers to actually style with outfits. If you’re a regular follower of my blog you already know that I like to style things together that wouldn’t “normally” “go-together”. I like the juxtaposition of pieces, like dressy/sporty or girlie/tough, etc. So for this look I paired these high tops with this sweater two-piece that someone else might have styled more “sexy” with heels.  Thanks for reading! God Bless!

The News Room

IMG_3079IMG_3092IMG_3143IMG_3081IMG_3103IMG_3145

This outfit has a 70s  vibe to it, the flared leg, high waist jeans with the loose fit button down shirt. The blazer kicks it up a notch and makes me feel as though I should be either working in the news room with Mary and Mr. Grant (The Mary Tyler Moore Show) or going out to solve a case with the Angels (Charlie’s Angels). The 70s is one of my favorite decades for fashion. But really, I like something from every decade fashion-wise. I guess that’s just how it is when you love fashion! You can appreciate it at every stage and decade. Until the next time, God Bless!
