Mount Up on Wings

Another off-the-shoulder top that I styled a bit sporty/tomboy. These paint splashed khakis I’ve had for several years are laid-back casual but a touch more interesting than a regular pair due to the splashes of paint effect. I styled these sneakers with the look because I just didn’t feel like wearing a shoes and plus I wanted to have a more laid-back, casual vibe. I think I may be wearing sneakers more than any other footwear this Summer. We shall see! Until we meet again, God Bless!

Ok, if you don’t already own a pair of Mom jeans I suggest you go out and get a pair! They are so versatile. Just like any other pair of jeans you can dress them up with heels or dress them down with sneakers or a casual boot. I know you’re probably thinking, “Who wants to wear a pair of jeans that don’t flatter your figure?”. Yes, I partially agree with that. They do flatten your booty so if you are lacking a bit in the back, they make it look even flatter. I don’t care about that but some of you may. I like that they give a whole different look then a pair of skinny, boyfriend, straight leg or even flared jeans. I guess because I have a thing with pieces from decades past, I adore them! The plus side to Mom jeans is that they make your waist look smaller due to the higher rise! Now tell me who doesn’t want the illusion of a smaller waist! Oh yeah, this is another pair of sneakers that I’ve added to my closet. You can never go wrong with an all white sneak. It’s just that they are very rare nowadays. Every pair has some color incorporated but I prefer an all white pair too. Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

Fascinated

19 May

This is what I wore to a Mother’s Day Luncheon. They asked everyone to wear a hat and they would have a Best Hat contest. Instead of going for a fancy hat and having to style my hair to accommodate it, I thought a fascinator was the way to go. As far as the outfit goes, I’ve had my eye on these style of pants with the skirt attached, ever since I seen them worn on the red carpet. I hadn’t seen them in the stores I frequent but came across them a few months ago when the saleswoman bought them to me after seeing “my style” through the other pieces I had picked out. I had no idea when and where I was going to wear them but knew they belonged in my closet. So when this event came up, I knew I was going to wear them (but only after it was cold and rainy and I didn’t want to wear the maxi skirt that I was prepared to wear).  Later for now! God Bless!

I have been looking for a pair of wide leg overalls for a while. Well, actually not actively looking but checking to see if a pair are wide-legged when I do come across a pair of overalls. I found a pair that reminded me of these high waist flare jeans, but in an overall form. They were at H&M but when I tried on what is usually my size, I couldn’t even get them over my hips. I know that H&M sizes run small but these were ridiculously small. And of course they didn’t have any bigger sizes. And then a couple of months later I stumbled upon these. I saw them online, on clearance, but was a bit skeptical because they were a size small. I usually do mediums but I thought, why not take a chance; I could just return them to the store if they don’t work. Although they are a little more fitted then my usual style, I was happy with them. My favorite is the slits at the bottom of the leg. They are a bit long so a flatform was in order so they wouldn’t drag the ground much. I didn’t like how the pant leg fell when a tried them on with wedges. Are you in to overalls for yourself? God Bless!

The off-the-shoulder trend is big this season! I bought this top before Christmas with intentions on wearing it once the Spring/Summer season hit. This trend can be found at all price points and come in several different variations of garments. I purchased several over the last few months so be prepared to see them here on the blog as the warmers days approach. Now I’m wishing that I would’ve kept a couple that I had many years ago (that’s why I hang on the pieces now; they resurface again and again in the fashion cycle). The off-the-shoulder style reminds me of the Hispanic culture. I can imagine beautiful Mexican girls milling about with off-the-shoulder tops and dresses. Anyway, dressed it down with these jeans with patches but then elevated the look again with a pop of animal print heels. Give the off-the-shoulder trend a go! Every woman has beautiful shoulders. It doesn’t matter the size or shape of the rest of your body you will feel comfortable with this look. God Bless!

My mom 1st saw this jumpsuit while she was out shopping one day. She immediately new that it was something that I would wear. She called to let me know about it but when I checked it out, the price was not something I wanted to pay! It was actually a bit ridiculous and I refused to pay full price for it, even though I wanted it. Anyway, you know me, I will stalk a piece. So, since I wasn’t going to pay full price (which I don’t the majority of the time I shop), I actually stalked the jumpsuit until they put it on sale and had a coupon available. Because just being on sale still wasn’t good enough. Oh yeah, I was also able to use some reward dollars towards it too. I digress! A black belt with a gold plate did come with the jumpsuit but I preferred it more loose/relaxed fitting. Plus, I wanted to wear these silver mules. Not that I don’t mix metal tones but this time it just didn’t look right to me. Until the next time, God Bless!

Office (In)Appropriate

Is there anything better than a crop top and high waist flare jeans? Well, maybe not better but just as good! Anyway, the blazer was added to make the look a bit more classic and office appropriate. Although I don’t know what office would allow its employees to wear crop tops to work. Well, maybe if you work in a more creative environment that is more fashion forward and free. So instead of my usual everyday attire of medical scrubs and sneakers, this is what I would wear to the office of my dreams. What would you wear to work if you could wear whatever you wanted? Thanks for reading! God Bless!

If you know anything about my style, you know that I have an affinity for loosely fitting/oversized clothing. So when I tried this dress on and it hung off me, that sealed the deal! Little did I know the brand is a Plus Size brand which makes this a Plus Size dress. I didn’t realize it because the tag read size Medium. I just thought it was supposed to fit oversized. Well, as you see, I didn’t care. I love the loose, hanging off, relaxed fit. Threw on these mirrored high-tops to because I wanted to wear a sneaker and I like how the silver pops. Sorry for my absence but I have quite a few posts to make up for it, so come back soon! God Bless!
