Rough Around the Edges

Some may call this a jumper dress and others may call it a pinafore dress. Whatever it’s called it was a great choice for this steamy hot day! It’s lightweight denim and super comfy! Perfect for running around getting things done. I styled it with my shiny sneakers to make it even more laid back and casual. How are you beating the heat with wardrobe choices? God Bless!

Just wondering if my new found love of sneakers and flat shoes will change once the temperature begins to drop. But for now, I just can’t get enough! The fact that this jumpsuit is a bit revealing on the top (a bit too much cleavage for my taste), meant that I wanted to create a more sporty and less “sexy” look so the sneakers were a no-brainer. The jean jacket also added a touch more modesty and warmth for the subzero air conditioning. This is another one of those Summer to Fall transition pieces. Are you currently or will you transition any of your Summer pieces? Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

Still enjoying the OTS (off the shoulder) trend but this time with this lovely, mulitiered, mustard colored dress. The hat just finishes the look to me and anytime I can incorporate a hat into a look I’m a happy girl! I feel like I should have been on a holiday in some other country wearing this ensemble. Instead I was just here on the East Coast going about my business as usual. But anyway, a girl can dream right? God Bless!

A Little Black A Little White

A bit of pattern mixing. Remember, the key is to have the same colors. Unless you’re a bit more daring and a fashion risk-taker. But this is the easy way to do it. The skirt a bit higher on the waist so I styled it with this crop top. This is look that I’ve come to love as a Summer go to, a crop top and a skirt. And I can’t forget how obsessed I am with a flat slide. They are just so easy and look good with everything! I think my heels are probably a bit jealous this Summer because I have been almost totally neglecting them. We’ll see what happens this Fall. Do you have a go-to look for the Summer? God Bless!

Hey Mickey!

An unexpected “prop” rolled into the shot so I just figured, let’s go with it! This all took place as Javar’s things that were packed and waiting to be taking for him to move into school was shifted around in order to get these quick outfit shots. Anyway, I needed to be comfy for the big move and nothing is more comfy than denim, a t-shirt and a pair of sneakers. Later for now. God Bless!

There’s nothing like hand-me-downs from a son who quickly outgrows everything! I love taking a piece that is menswear and styling it with a few feminine pieces. The shorts from Javar but I now call them my own. The OTS (off the shoulder) top adds a bit of femininity with a boho flair. No “color” in this look but I  like the neutrality. How do you feel about women incorporating menswear pieces into their wardrobes? God Bless!

Who doesn’t love a maxi anything! Well, I guess if you’re a bit height challenged wearing a maxi dress/skirt could be a challenge but it could be done (with the help of a good tailor). This skirt I actually picked up from a pop up boutique at an event we went to early Spring. The actual boutique is in Jersey and I still have yet to make a trip there but it will happen. She had pieces that were so spot on my style that after watching me shop, the owner actually picked out pieces that she knew I would like. I was drawn to the colors and the busy print on this skirt. I love the mix of the floral with the stripes! Are you into maxi dresses/skirts? How do you style them? God Bless!

Another jumpsuit! Culottes always look so much more stylish when an you wrap the leg with ties from your shoes. I love how light and free flowing this look is. So cool and casual only made cooler with a wide brim hat! Until the next time, God Bless!

Shine Bright

Styled one of my favorites, the bodysuit, with these cropped jeans and kimono wrap jacket. The jacket I picked up last year while shopping in Vegas. Because of its shimmer, it could come off a bit garish so I toned it down with denim. The same goes for the shiny bodysuit. I would consider this to be a transition out. Transitioning your Summer pieces to wear in the Fall when the weather is still a bit warm. Well, until the next time, God Bless!
