Dragonfly

25 Oct

IMG_3138IMG_3140IMG_3143IMG_3148

There’s something about a dragonfly that is intriguing to me. So when I came across this longline vest with dragonfly appliques on the back, I had to have it! Styled it with loose fitting pair of culottes to give it a sophisticated but relaxed look. Later may style it with a pair of jeans for a different look. God Bless!

Potato Sack

Yes, I do believe they literally took potato sacks to make this dress! It reminded me of the ‘I Love Lucy’ episode where Lucy and Ethel wanted a designer original dress and Ricky and Fred got the ladies dresses made from potato sacks as a joke. Anyway, here I am in a potato sack! Until the next time, God Bless!

It’s already public knowledge, but I love a caftan! This time a veered off my usual Mrs. Roper style and went with an African print! Instead of the expected sandal, I chose a pair of sneakers. Bye for now! God Bless!

Caftan: Sorry! Don’t remember cause I had it for a few years!

Still enjoying the OTS (off the shoulder) trend but this time with this lovely, mulitiered, mustard colored dress. The hat just finishes the look to me and anytime I can incorporate a hat into a look I’m a happy girl! I feel like I should have been on a holiday in some other country wearing this ensemble. Instead I was just here on the East Coast going about my business as usual. But anyway, a girl can dream right? God Bless!

A Little Black A Little White

A bit of pattern mixing. Remember, the key is to have the same colors. Unless you’re a bit more daring and a fashion risk-taker. But this is the easy way to do it. The skirt a bit higher on the waist so I styled it with this crop top. This is look that I’ve come to love as a Summer go to, a crop top and a skirt. And I can’t forget how obsessed I am with a flat slide. They are just so easy and look good with everything! I think my heels are probably a bit jealous this Summer because I have been almost totally neglecting them. We’ll see what happens this Fall. Do you have a go-to look for the Summer? God Bless!

Hey Mickey!

An unexpected “prop” rolled into the shot so I just figured, let’s go with it! This all took place as Javar’s things that were packed and waiting to be taking for him to move into school was shifted around in order to get these quick outfit shots. Anyway, I needed to be comfy for the big move and nothing is more comfy than denim, a t-shirt and a pair of sneakers. Later for now. God Bless!

Who doesn’t love a maxi anything! Well, I guess if you’re a bit height challenged wearing a maxi dress/skirt could be a challenge but it could be done (with the help of a good tailor). This skirt I actually picked up from a pop up boutique at an event we went to early Spring. The actual boutique is in Jersey and I still have yet to make a trip there but it will happen. She had pieces that were so spot on my style that after watching me shop, the owner actually picked out pieces that she knew I would like. I was drawn to the colors and the busy print on this skirt. I love the mix of the floral with the stripes! Are you into maxi dresses/skirts? How do you style them? God Bless!

Another jumpsuit! Culottes always look so much more stylish when an you wrap the leg with ties from your shoes. I love how light and free flowing this look is. So cool and casual only made cooler with a wide brim hat! Until the next time, God Bless!

Who doesn’t love a dress with pockets? I love dresses anyway, but one with pockets, is the bee’s knees (as Wendy Williams would say)! This one gives me the feel of vintage so it is definitely right up my alley. And the print is both busy but somehow classic to me. I had to style it with these crazy cool sandals that I picked up several months ago. I’m always on the hunt from that unique piece, whether it be an article of clothing or a shoe is all the better. These babies are definitely the star (pun intended) of the outfit! Later for now! God Bless!
