Velvet and More Velvet

Stepping out in this velvet coat I picked up when Michelle and I did our charity shopping trip last month. As usual, I picked it up in other colors too (burgundy and chocolate brown). Styled it with these high waist jeans that I cut the bottom hem off to give them that raw hem look. And the open toe booties were a no-brainer. Have you gotten in on the velvet trend yet this season? Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

This is a music festival outfit. No, really, I actually wore it to one and not one of the times when I just looked like I should have been at a music festival. I went on a little thrifting spree (x2) and scooped up a few pairs of high waist shorts and jeans. Some of the jeans are going to be cut into shorts and them some I will leave as long pants. I haven’t been thrifting in over a year so it was fun to get back at it and come away with some good finds. The sneakers are the fraternal twins to the high top pair worn here. Well, I’m out for now! Talk to you soon! God Bless!

Bow Down

Yeah, I know this big bow on this blouse with the huge puffy sleeves is a bit obnoxious and over the top. But I like it even though it can pass for a painters smock from back in the day. So since it was so “fancy” I decided to style it with a pair of raw hem jeans to make it more casual. And I couldn’t resist adding a pop of color with these bright shoes! Until the next time, God Bless!

Casual attire consisting of a pair of high waist jeans, a sweatshirt and some sneaks. You can’t get anymore basic than that! The sneakers I picked up around Christmas time. I was drawn to them because they reminded me of a pair of DKNY boots that I had back in the day. Why didn’t I keep them? I say that often about pieces I remember having and wish that I currently still owned. That’s why I have a hard time getting rid of pieces now. I always think, now what if I get rid of it and then want it back several years later? That’s why I keep alot of my clothes for years!!! You never know when I get that urge to pull out a piece from the archives. Well, I digress! Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

Kimono/Robe

Just a plain white tee and some jeans. The rest of the ensemble needed to be basic so not to compete with the boldness of the kimono. A kimono has a few functions. One being it can give you a bit of warmth if you feel a bit chilly. And another is to take an outfit of basics up a notch like I did. Kimonos can be found at any store in a variety of lengths, patterns, fabrics and styles. Give your fall wardrobe an update by trying a kimono to finish off your look. God Bless!

Birds Of A Feather

Sunday: I’ve had these shoes for a while now but wanted to style them with another black and white pattern piece. So amongst the many black and white pieces that I own, this draped bird blouse won out. Mixed the dressiness of the blouse and heels with these pair of higher waist cropped jeans that are super old (almost vintage). And of course a derby topper to complete the look. Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!
