It’s Been A Long Time

7 Apr

I apologize for my absence but uploading pics from my Canon DSLR to my laptop is very daunting and I just fell off. Not completely because I still post on Instagram. Hence the reason forthese mirror pics. I am actually testing out uploading pics from my phone. So if you don’t already, follow me on the Gram for outfit posts and other things. I’m still gonna go back and post some looks that are on my Canon though so stay tuned. Thanks for your patience and following! God Bless!

You either love them or you hate them! The “Mom” jean that is. I love them, as you can see. There’s nothing very flattering about them but I don’t care. I like that they give you a look that most women won’t do. I like that they are a still that’s vintage without having to hunt down a pair in a thrift store. If you don’t have a booty these jeans surely won’t give the illusion of having one. But that’s all I’m going to say about the “Mom” jean. I’m finally wearing one of the skinny scarves that I purchased quite a while back. You can style a skinny scarf as an accessory in place of a necklace or you can layer them with a necklace(s). I hope your having a great weekend! God Bless!

Nothing goes together better than stripes and animal print. I consider them both neutrals and the contrast of the to is spot on (no pun intended) to me. I had to through on the turbo for an unexpected pop of the silver lame. It’s so 70’s disco. Just a bit of fun with accessories! Thanks for coming back for another year of the blog! God Bless!

This dress is one of the pieces I picked up while shopping in Las Vegas. It’s fabric that can be worn in colder weather with a pair of tights or on a warmer day with bare legs. And since it was one of those unusually warm days in December here on the East Coast, I decided to wear my toes out. Why not? Let’s take advantage of these warm Spring-like days until they are gone. Just think, this time last year we already had snow, ugh! And since everyone knows I loathed snow, I am not complaining one bit about it being so warm. I know it’s Christmas time and people here on the East Coast believe that Christmas equates to cold and snow, I don’t. I could just as well spend Christmas in the Caribbean and be content. If my family were there.Well, hope your enjoying getting prepared for the up coming holidays. Until the next time, God Bless!

Marooned

12 Nov

IMG_0759 IMG_0771 IMG_0779 IMG_0770

I’m not quite sure what to call this color, but depending on who is describing it, it can be called a few different things. The old school term is maroon. I might also call it burgundy. Someone else might call it wine or oxblood. But whatever you want to call it, it’s a rich-looking, warm, Fall shade that somehow becomes like a neutral to me. That’s what I had in mind when I purchased these suede booties a few years ago. I didn’t look at them and think, “what do I already own that matches them”. But instead I knew I would wear them like they were a neutral like black or brown. So, what do you call this color? God Bless!

I’m loving this weather we’ve been having! It’s Fall but the temps have been in the 70s! So since it was so warm today, I wanted to go bare-legged. I’m finally wearing this dress that I bought several years ago. Styled with an ankle bootie because, who doesn’t love an ankle bootie with a dress. Just an easy, casual outfit suited for running around town doing errands. Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

Fringe Benefits

IMG_0439 IMG_0441 IMG_0448 IMG_0425 IMG_0424

Fringe is one of the big trends for this season. I decided to style this faux leather fringe skirt with a casual t-shirt and a baseball cap. The fur puff ball detail on the hat makes it more fun and quirky than a plain cap.The tee is representing my hometown and the big event that we all looked forward to every year, The Woodbury Relays. It’s still being done every Spring in April and this year was the 43rd Annual Woodbury Relays. Have you tried any of the trends for this season yet? Until the next, God Bless!

Fall-ing Into Fall Fashion

Although I am definitely a Summer heat and humidity lover, I do enjoy this time of year when the weather is still a bit warm but still cool enough to wear a sweater and no coat. So instead of going completely coatless, I topped off my sweater with this sleeveless coat. I would consider it to be a vest but the fashion industry calls it a “sleeveless coat”. Well, I guess it does resemble more of a coat than a vest because of the length and its weight. Anyway, I’ve been looking at these for a while but couldn’t find one in my price range until I came across this one. The bonus with this one is that the bottom quilted portion can be zipped off and the top can be worn as a vest! What key piece are you looking to buy this Fall? God Bless!

Mom’s the Word

The “Mom Jean”. I’m kind of obsessed with these. I agree with you, I don’t know why either. They aren’t very figure flattering. They make crotch look long, as if it’s right up under your boobs. Your but appears longer and flatter than it actually is. And God knows that some of us who don’t have much back there to begin with don’t need that kind of optical illusion, haha! But I am drawn to them, nonetheless. What’s your take on the “Mom Jean”? Do you or would you wear them?

Sunday: Today was supposed to be an all black day but instead I decided to mix it up with navy blue instead. Does it matter, navy or black, they’re both dark neutrals, right? Anyway, I love a coated jean! This is the newest pair added to ones that I already own. Coated jeans just make jeans a little more dressy but also give you the look of leather. Wore a printed blouse to add a little interest instead of an all monochromatic look. And of course, I had to add a pop of color with these burgundy suede booties. I like to always throw on something a little unexpected and against “the norm” in an outfit. It just makes things a little more interesting! Try it sometime! Well, another weekend down. Thanks for reading and following my personal style diary (this blog). Have a blessed week! God Bless!
