This is one of the vintage pieces that I picked up in Chicago. I like to hit up the thrift stores and go vintage shopping whenever I visit a different city. I do my research online before I get there so that I have a well executed plan as to where to go, store hours and the best way to get there. Wicker Park was the neighborhood. They had several stores up and down the street. I spent my time going in and out of stores (while the hubby patiently waited). He knows that’s my thing when we travel! It’s also where I picked up this awesome Stella McCartney look-a-likes from Steve Madden. I think they are too trendy and not worth the hundreds of dollars asked for by the designer ones. But that’s just my opinion. Do what you like with your own money ;). Thanks for reading! God Bless!

Dress: Vintage (Ragstock in Chicago)

Cream of the Crop

24 Jun

I’ve had these high waist pants for quite a while now and had actually planned on styling them with a different top. But when I purchased this crop top a few months ago, I instantly knew that I would style it with these pants. The top has that tribal print that’s on trend at this time. I like that the fabric makes it feel as though I actually bought it while traveling abroad. Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

Top: Forever 21

Pants: H&M (old)

Shoes: I can’t recall the brand right now (check back on another post)

Sunday: A quick post of some shots me and the hubby did together. He’s usually a neutrals wearing kind of guy but I get him to step out his box every now and then.

Sunday: Wearing a vintage-inspired denim skirt. My favorite part is the buttons that go down the front. And the high waist. You already know how much I love a casual graphic tee with EVERYTHING! It just adds a sense of quirkiness that I love. I just love mixing pieces that ordinarily don’t “match” or “go together” in the traditional sense. But mixing it up is what makes it my personal style. Anywho, the platforms just work with the fuller skirt for me. I guess they are probably what one might have actually worn with a skirt like this in the 70’s. Well, that’s all for now. God Bless!

Tee: ??? (I really can’t remember right now!)

Denim Skirt: A.N.A (JCP)-a few yrs ago

Shoes: Calvin Klein (Marshall’s?)- 1 or 2 yrs ago

Sunday: As I mentioned before, I love a two-toned pair of pants. They so remind me of the two-tone jeans we used to wear in the 80’s. So when I came across these trousers, I knew they were coming home with me. I purchased them several months ago but as usual and for no reason, hadn’t worn them until now. The blouse was a gift from my Secret Sister at church (we chose names and the unknowing “sister” gets a gift from you every month). I instantly knew that I wanted to wear it with these trousers to do a complete head to toe color block look. I’m also loving this chain linked choker that I picked up a few months ago. I knew it could come off a little S&M so I decided to wear it with this more conservative look. It gives the outfit a bit of an edge. Well, another weekend gone. Hope you had a great one! God Bless!

Blouse: Dana Buchman (Kohl’s)*Gift

Trousers: Worthington (JCP)
